Last week saw Anba Barnaba, Coptic Orthodox Bishop of Turin, Rome, and southern Italy, visit the port city of Catania on Sicily’s east coast, 700 km south of Rome.
During his visit, Anba Barnaba presided over Holy Mass, together with Father Pola al-Akhmimi who is in charge of the Catania and Southern Italy Coptic congregation, and met the congregation and spent time with them. He also met Muhammad Ashraf, head of the Egyptian student group currently studying in Catania.
Anba Barnaba also met Monsignor Giuseppe Fiorini Morosini, Archbishop of Reggio Calabria.
