The Monastery of Anba Pola (St Paul the Hermit) in Boush, Beni Sweif, some 100km south of Cairo, has presented 30 Qur’ans as gifts to a new Islamic charity compound which recently opened in the village.
Participating in the opening ceremony were the monks Fr Basilios al-Anba Pola from Anba Pola’s; Fr Fam al-Antouni from Anba Antonios Monastery in Boush; and Fr Estephanos Soliman from Beni Sweif Bishopric.
The new charity compound is financed by Haj Sarwat al-Daouri, a prominent businessman in Beni Sweif.
Worth noting is that the Anba Pola Monastery in Boush is held in very high esteem by the locals, Muslims as well as Copts. Muslim families frequently go to the monastery seeking settlement of disputes that arise among them, and totally accept the monks judgement which they see as fair and wise.
