Coptic Bishop of Torino and Rome joins in Prayer for Church Unity

On assignment by Pope Tawadros II, Anba Barnaba, Bishop of Torino and Rome, has joined in prayer with Pope Francis and prelates from Churches around the world at the Church of St Paul Outside the Walls in Rome. The prayerful event was the Day of Praying for Church Unity, an initiative called for by Pope Francis.

Anba Barnaba was accompanied by a number of monks from the monasteries of Anba Pola and al-Surian in Egypt. Anba Barnaba met Cardinal Walter Kasper, former president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity; Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity since 1 July 2010; Cardinal Archbishop Angelo De Donatis, the Pope’s vicar for the diocese of Rome; and Bishop Brian Farrell, Secretary of the Council for Promoting Christian Unity.
