The priests of the parish of Akhmim, Sohag, some 450km south of Cairo, held their periodical meeting yesterday morning in attendance of Anba Psada, Bishop of Akhmim and Saqolta.
Once the meeting concluded, a seminar on the rationalisation of water consumption was held, organised by Egypt’s Holding Company for Water and Wastewater (HCWW). The aim was to educate the clergy on raising awareness among the congregation of the need to rationalise water consumption, and methods to achieve that.
With Egypt facing a threat of water poverty, the Coptic Church has partnered with the government in its national campaign for rationalisation of water consumption.
