Yesterday 8 June saw the opening of the first conference for professors of the Coptic Orthodox Seminary, better known as the Clerical College, at Anafora retreat farm off the Cairo-Alexandria highway in the Western Desert.

The four-day conference which hosted 183 professors from the 12 nationwide branches of the seminary is held under the title “Take heed unto thyself and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing thus thou shalt save both thyself and them that hear thee.” (1Timothy 4: 16) and aims at placing a comprehensive integrated vision for the curriculum, teaching methods, and administration at the seminary.

Pope Tawadros II gave the opening address, speaking of the hopes and aspirations held on the seminary. Participating in the conference are Bishop Tadros of Port Said, Bishop Morqos of Shubral-Kheima, Bishop Demetrius of Mallawi, Bishop Thomas of Qousiya, Bishop Daoud of Mansoura, and Bishop-General Karas of Mehalla al-Kubra.
