An Indian group of tourists on pilgrimage in Egypt has been hosted by the Lady of Peace Home for persons with disabilities in the East Cairo district known as Sheraton. The home is run by Coptic Catholic nuns.
The 30-person group of Indian pilgrims had visited spots on the Holy Family trail in Egypt: the path trodden by Baby Jesus, His Mother Mary, and St Joseph while on their Biblical flight into Egypt in the first AD century. The flight is mentioned in the Gospel of St Matthew, chapter 2.
The pilgrims’ visits included the church of Abu-Serga and the Hanging Church in Old Cairo. They attended Holy Mass with the Catholic nuns who also explained to them the home’s role and mission. Altogether, the members of the Indian group expressed joy and excitement at their Egypt pilgrimage.
