The Mayor of Brighton and Hove, Pete West, has paid a visit to the church of the Holy Virgin and Anba Abra’am in Brighton. On hand to receive him was Father Menassa Saleeb, as well as members of the church Shukry Naguib, Gamal Khalil, Adel Bessada, and Akram Ibrahim.
The mayor addressed a word to the congregation expressing his happiness at his first visit to the church. He commended the manner in which the Coptic and Sudanese communities in Brighton integrated and interacted with their British host community. He visited the Sunday School classes and displayed a readiness to support the church’s activities.
