The Prosecutor General Abdel-Meguid Mahmoud today referred Maurice Sadeq, Nabil Bisada, Esmat Zaqlama, Eliya Bassily, Ihab Yaaqoub, Jacques Attalla and Adel Riad, as representatives of the Copts of the Diaspora to the Criminal Court, charged with contempt of Islam, disdaining the Prophet Mohamed, inciting sectarian strife, spreading secession schemes that aim at sabotaging Egypt and hurting Muslims.
Members of the Freedoms Committee of the Lawyers Syndicate al-Sayed Hamed and Nasser al-Asqalani had filed a complaint against these Coptic figures, who publicly endorsed the film that disdains the Prophet Mohamed.
