Hundreds of Copts of the Minya village of Ezbet Awlad Marzouq took part today in the funeral of the two Copts —Ibrahim Marzouq, 60, and his son Ephraim Ibrahim Marzouq, 22, who were killed during the fight yesterday between the terrorist Holako gang and the Marzouq clan. The Holako gang which had since the January 2011 Revolution terrorised the Copts in Minya villages, who were deprived of any police protection, had yesterday kidnapped a woman of the Marzouq household, upon which a fight had erupted between the Marzouqs and the Holakos.
Holako was shot dead, as were the two Marzouq men.
A security source had yesterday said that three Copts had died, but it turned out that only two had lost their lives.
The village is still under heightened security for fear of the surviving members of the Holako gang, who might wage other attacks against the village in revenge.
