Al-Nadeem Centre for Rehabilitation of Victims of Violence and Torture presented an official demand to the general prosecutor Abdel-Meguid Mahmoud, for an investigation into the claim by eyewitnesses that several of the dead bodies were thrown into the River Nile—Maspero district overlooks the eastern bank of the Nile in Cairo.
The demand claimed that eyewitnesses reported that armoured vehicles had crushed the protesters, practically slaughtering them, and that the soldiers then hurled some nine bodies into the Nile.
A day earlier, the police found a body of a man floating on the Nile water near of Shubra al-Kheima, north of Cairo, and handed it to the Zeinhom morgue. The man has not been identified.
