As one of a series of exhibitions held according to a protocol signed between Dumyat governorate and the apparatus of projects development, “Made in Dumyat” is a furniture exhibition held in Cairo to promote Dumyat-made state-of-the-art wooden furniture. The two-week exhibition runs till 12 October at the Fair Grounds in Cairo, occupying a floor ground of 6,000 square meters over two storeys, with participation of 42 exhibitors.
According to Dumyat Governor Manal Awad Mikhail who joined Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel-Aal in opening the exhibition, this the first fair to be held this year; three others will be held before the year ends.
“Made in Dumyat”, the Governor said, “serves the governorate’s plan to promote the furniture industry in Dumyat, especially highlighting the role of small manufacturers, promoting their products, and opening new investment horizons for them. It opens excellent marketing opportunities before them.”
Other than furniture, Governor Mikhail said, the exhibition offers for the first time two products Dumyat is famous for: dairy products and pastries. She said that Cairenes are especially fond of them and will find them at the exhibition at very reasonable prices.
“For the first time, this year’s fair witnesses participation of sweets and dairy manufacturers from Dumyat to allow them to promote their products,” she noted.
Dumyat, also known as Damietta, is a town situated on the northern tip of the eastern Nile Delta branch as it flows into the Mediterranean.
