Some 200 students from various Egyptian universities and institutes are currently participating in the seventh edition of Menoufia University’s Robotics Competition. The competition is organised by Menoufia University’s Faculty of Engineering under the auspices of Muhammad al-Khouly, President of the University.
According to Abdel-Nasser Gawwad, acting dean of the Menoufia’s Faculty of Engineering, the university has been keen to organise this competition since 2010, with the aim of engaging engineering students in real life creative and challenging endeavours, especially in the field of robotics and electronics.
Dr Gawwad explained that the 50 participating teams will engage in the all year round competition throughout three rounds. In each round the participants will perform different activities related with robotics and robot assembly. The three winning teams will be awarded appreciation certificates and in-kind prizes by the competition sponsors who are prominent informatics firms in Egypt.
