A fennec fox that was found in the area of Ikingi Maryout southwest Alexandria and handed over to the Environment Ministry has been released in the al-Ameed National Park in Marsa Matrouh in the Western Desert. The fennec fox is an endangered species, and it is not known how this one found its way to Ikingi Maryout. Those who found it there handed it over to the Animal Rights organisation which in turn handed it to the Nature Protection Sector of the Ministry of State for Environmental Affairs, the authority concerned with biodiversity and wildlife in Egypt.
