A meeting today between the Interior Minister Ahmed Gamal Eddin, the Health Minister Mohamed Mustafa Hamed, and the Minister of Higher Studies Mustafa Mossad
A meeting today between the Interior Minister Ahmed Gamal Eddin, the Health Minister Mohamed Mustafa Hamed, and the Minister of Higher Studies Mustafa Mossad—in his capacity as the top official responsible for teaching hospitals—concluded with decision by Gamal Eddin to form a police department for hospital security. This police department, the minster said, would be responsible for providing security to all hospitals in Egypt: public, private or teaching hospitals.
This meeting came in response to the recent, urgent demand by the Health Ministry for securing hospitals and health facilities, especially in view of the escalating attacks, physical and with weapons, against doctors and medical facilities. Several emergency rooms have had to temporarily close in wake of such attacks.
