The last two days saw the Islamist militia Ansaar Bayt al-Maqdis (Supporters of the Holy House, Jerusalem) which is based in the Sinai Peninsula and wages terrorist attacks against Egyptian civilians, police, and military; post on Facebook photos of their masked members distributing fliers in the streets of the North Sinai towns of Sheikh Zuwayid and Rafah. The fliers were distributed at night, in absence of security forces, and included threats and calls for citizens to join the Ansaar beit al-Muqdis group.

The fliers states: “We are your sons who are struggling to raise high the name of Allah, which can only be fulfilled by ruling according to Al-Rahman’s (the Merciful) sharia (jurisprudence) and by establishing the Islamic State that promotes virtue and bans vice; and faces the aggressor Jews and Christians.”
“Until when?” the flier asks. “Until Allah’s rule reigns, borders are abolished and a Caliphate State is established”.
