EgyptAir is set to run flights from Cairo to al-Alamein airport located 112km west of Alexandria, the central hub of Egypt’s Mediterranean coast. The flights will begin for the first time, as part of a plan to encourage internal tourism and link touristic attractions all over the country, the Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Holding Company Safwat Musallam announced in a statement.
Musallam said the new seasonal direct flights would run twice weekly on Thursdays and Saturdays effective next Thursday 20 July 2017 and will last until end of summer on 15 September 2017 according to demand.
Helmy Rizq, Chairman of EgyptAir Express, said that clients can now book these flights at prices ranging from EGP800 for one direction and starting from EGP1600 for two-way tickets excluding taxes and fees.
Thousands of vacationers travel on holiday every year to Egypt’s North Coast resorts on the Cairo-Alexandria desert road during the months of July and August.
