Egypt’s ambassador to Burundi, Abeer Bassyouni Radwan, has been honoured earlier this month by Burundi’s President Pierre Nkurunziza during the National Day of Burundi on Monday 2 July in the Capital Bujumbura.
Among other ten Burundian and foreigner figures who made significant contributions to Burundi, Dr Radwan was on the top of the list and received the State’s Prize (Decoration Nationale) although she has been in office in Burundi for no more than two years.
“Since launching diplomatic ties between the two countries 55 years ago, on 8 December 1964, this is the first time an Egyptian ambassador in Burundi is honoured,” Dr Radwan noted.
