Today Christians in Egypt celebrate Easter Day, the Resurrection of Christ.
Tomorrow will be Easter Monday, a day on which all Egyptians celebrate Shamm al-Nessim, the Spring feast which goes back to ancient Egypt. 
The day is marked by going out into the gardens and feasting on salted fish, onions, and eggs, all of which are symbols of the renewal of life and the expulsion of evil spirits.
