Field Marshall Hussein Tantawi, head of the ruling Military Council, has said that a military helicopter will fly Pope Shenouda III’s coffin to Anba Bishoi monastery once the funeral service is over, and another will carry 100 persons to accompany him there.
The military and the police are currently taking all the preparations to secure the St Mark’s cathedral for the funeral tomorrow.
The crowds of thousands heading to and leaving the cathedral have led the traffic authorities to divert and redirect the traffic around the cathedral area.
