Today, Sunday 30 July 2017, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina launches phase two of its project “Towards a Better Educator” at Assiut University’s Faculty of Education in the southern capital city of Assiut, 350km south of Cairo. The project is launched in collaboration with the two NGOs: the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, and Star Care Egypt which was established by Mercedes-Benz Egypt to work on promoting and endorsing social services of health and education for children.
The training programme aims at the development of teachers on the level of personality and occupational and creative skills that complement their teaching skills and work towards student development. This leads to enhancing their communication with students, which reflects positively on the educational process as a whole.
The project targets State primary and preparatory schools in Alexandria and Assiut.
Phase One of the project was launched on 2 August 2016 in Alexandria. This year’s programme will include five main workshops. A number of participants will be selected to attend an advanced training workshop for coaching trainers for trainees in the science field. Competitions will also be held between different schools; both teachers and students may participate.
