After eight months absence since November 2019, Anba Daniel, Bishop of the Coptic Diocese of Sydney and its Affiliated Regions, has returned back to his diocese.
There had been complaints against Anba Daniel, and Pope Tawadros II had dispatched a committee formed of a number of bishops to Sydney from 27 November till 4 December 2019, to investigate the matter. The committee included Anba Danial, Bishop of Maadi and Secretary of the Holy Synod; Anba Piemen, Bishop of Naqada and Qous and head of the crises committee of the Holy Synod; Anba Youssef, Bishop of South the US. The Pope assigned Anba Tadros, Bishop of Port Said, as Papal Deputy Sydney and its affiliated regions. Anba Tadros worked several reforms, re-forming the financial and administrative committees of churches in the Sydney parish.
Two days after Anba Daniel was back in Sydney, he sent a message of thanks to the clergy and Coptic congregation in Sydney. His message read:
“My dear beloved, the Clergy and the Diocese of Sydney, their families and congregation and my beloved outside the Diocese,
“May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the Communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” (2 Corn 13:14)
“I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. (1 Corn 1:4)
I also thank your sincere love and say to you ‘I have you in my heart.’ (1 Philippians 1:7), and
“For God is my witness that without ceasing I mention you always in my prayers” (Romans 1:9)
“With all modesty I ask you to: ‘live in peace and the God of love and peace will be with you.’ (2 Corn 13:11)
“May the Lord keep for us the life of HH Pope Tawadros II and his partner in the Apostolic Ministry, His Eminence Metropolitan Anba Tadros.
