The two families of Orthodox Churches, the Eastern Orthodox Church and the Oriental Orthodox Church, in The Netherlands have signed an agreement by which they would collaborate on offering community services to their congregations.
A joint social institution would be established under the agreement, to be in contact with the Netherlands ministries of justice, defence and education. Through the joint institution, the two Orthodox Churches would be able to care for the needy in hospitals, prisons and care-houses.
The agreement was signed by Metropolitan Athenagoras (Peckstadt) of the Greek Church in Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg; and Anba Arsani, the Coptic Bishop of Netherlands.
