Anba Arseny, Coptic Orthodox Bishop of The Netherlands and Belgium, has participated on 28 June in an Amsterdam meeting with representatives of the two sister Orthodox Churches in Amsterdam: the Armenian and Russian Churches. The meeting was hosted by the Armenian Orthodox Church, and was attended by Metropolitan Athenagoras, Archbishop of the Benelux (Netherland, Belgium and Luxembourg) for the Church of Constantinople, Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, the Pontifical Legate of the Western Europe and representative of the Armenian Church. Russian and Armenian priests also attended the meeting.
Cooperation between the Eastern Byzantine Church and the Oriental Orthodox Churches was discussed during the meeting, especially in what concerns social activities and care offered in prisons and hospitals through a foundation formed by the three Churches.
