Coptic Orthodox Bishop Antony of Ireland, Scotland and Wales has signed with the Baptist Church in Swansea the final purchasing contract by which the Coptic Orthodox Church becomes the new owner of the church.
The new church will be consecrated in the name of Archangel Michael and St Mina.
For the last six years, the Coptic Church has been conducting worship in rented churches.
The new church will be the first owned by the Copts in Swansea.
The keys of the church were handed to Bishop Antony.
This is the second church the Coptic Diocese of Ireland, Scotland and Wales purchases this month.
