In solidarity with Egyptians in general, and Copts in specific, millions of Christians from all over the world, together with a number of Muslims figures, will participate to ##pray for Egypt## on the World Day of Prayer, which is planned to for next Friday at the Monastery of St Samaan (Simeon) the Tanner in Muqqattam, Cairo.
Simultaneously, other prayers will be held in other countries all over the world, with participation of all Christian sects and congregations.
Badri Makram, human rights activist and one of the organisers for this event at Muqqattam, said that this celebration comes within the framework of praying for peace in Egypt, and asking God to bestow peace and stability in our country, and end wars and chaos in the world.
The event, Mr Makram noted, will begin at 6:00pm on Friday and until continue throughout the night till past dawn, 6:00am, the following day. It will include prayers, praises, hymns, contemplation, sermons, and requests. Participating will be bishops and priests of all sects and from all places in Egypt, as well as public figures—Christian and Muslim.
