At St Mark’s Cathedral in Azbakiya, Cairo, which was the papal seat for Coptic patriarchs from 1800 to 1971, Holy Mass has been celebrated by bishops of the Oriental Church Family in Cairo. Officiating were Anba Raphail, Coptic Orthodox Bishop-General of Downtown Cairo Churches; Metropolitan Mar-Matta of the Syriac Orthodox Church; as well as priests representing the Armenian, Indian, and Eritrean Churches.
The Liturgy was prayed in several languages: Coptic, Syriac, Armenian, Tigrinya, Indian, English, and Arabic.
