In a recent meeting with Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli, the board of the Authority of New Urban Communities approved the allocation of three pieces of land for building new churches. The first is a 2154.35 square metre plot in Nasser city to build a Coptic Catholic church; the second is 2585.77 square metres in 10th of Ramadan city for an Evangelical church; and the third 2551 square metres wide for a Coptic Orthodox church, also in 10th of Ramadan.
The 2016 law for building churches in Egypt stipulates that all new urban settlements should include lands allocated for churches and, in a recent incident, President Sisi has insisted that the law should be observed.
