Last Monday the prosecution ordered the release four detainees from among 157 held pending investigation in the Umraniya Coptic riots which erupted on Wednesday 24 November. The rioting, in which the security forces opened live fire on the Copts and which left two Copts dead and scores injured, took place in the wake of a security attack against an unlicensed church building in Talbiya in Umraniya, Giza. The four released include two women and two teenagers.
