Harassment, bullying, child marriage, discrimination against women, and other issues of women oppression and pain have been the focus of in two art exhibitions held at the Cairo Opera House art galleries.
The first comes under the title of “Hunna” [Arabic for “They” in the feminine sense]” by artist Nagy Shaker (1932 – 2018): a puppeteer, painter, stage and film director, costume, set and lighting designer. The exhibition runs till 30 March.
The second is titled “Spring” by female artist Inass Saad, and runs till 7 April.
Artworks of the two exhibition make some 45 paintings in oil, acrylic, and mixed media, vividly depicting women and celebrating their roles in life.
