President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi spent this morning of Eid al-Fitr, the feast that comes at the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, with a group of children and family members of military men and policemen who had lost their lives or were injured in terror attacks. A special was arranged for them at al-Manara Conference Centre in al-Tahany al-Khames, a suburb east of Cairo.
President Sisi had first started this practice of spending the Feast Day with the bereaved or pained children last year, in profound appreciation of the ultimate sacrifice their fathers had made for Egypt.
The President and guests were all smiles as he played with the children, wished all a happy feast, and expressed joy at being among them. A documentary was screened and photographs displayed of last year’s event which was also held at al-Manara Centre. At the time, he had promised to make the Eid gathering an annual tradition.
