A protocol of cooperation was signed on 5 December between EgyptAir Hospital and Assistance Publique–Hôpitaux de Paris (APHP)—the General Authority for Hospitals in Paris. APHP is the largest hospital system in Europe and one of the largest in the world; it includes 39 hospitals in France.
Ayman Salah, Chairman of EgyptAir Hospital represented the Egyptian side, and Florence Weber, Director of International Relations at APHP represented the French side. Egyptian and French officials attended the signing ceremony.
In light of the protocol, the Egyptian side should benefit from the APHP expertise in the field of medical services, and EgyptAir medical staff will have the opportunity to learn modern practices in all medical fields.
According to Yehia Zakaria, Chairman of EgyptAir Company, this is not the first such cooperation with the French; for years France has cooperated with the EgyptAir Hospital and had a considerable input in developing the medical system there.
