The Japan Foundation in Cairo has sponsored two concerts in Cairo for Japanese singer Ito Miyu, in which she performed Anime songs as well as a number of her own special songs.
The first concert was hosted by al-Shams sporting club on 11 February, through the EGYcon 2017. EGYcon is one of the most important annual events for Anime, Manga & Games fans in Egypt. The second concert will be held today, 12 February at al-Sawy Culture Wheel in Zamalek.
Ito Miyu among the most outstanding Japanese pop artists; she is one of the foremost singers in the “Kayokyoku” or Japanese Traditional Pop genre, which is a style based on 60s and 70s Japanese pop music. She won several awards including the Best New Artist Award from the 53rd Japan Records Awards, and was the Kayokyoku artist at the 100th anniversary of Japan Columbia Records convention. She released her first album “Roppongi Stardust” in 2011 and has gone on to release four more CDs in the following years. A multi-talented artist, she also started acting onstage in 2015 and appeared in 3 plays.
