Our Egyptian New Year wish goes: “May you be well with every New Year”. I use the same words to wish Egypt and its people a new year full of hope, prosperity and blessings, during which Egyptians would all enjoy the fruits of development and growth.
Next Friday, Copts celebrate Christmas, commemorating the coming of Jesus Christ to earth carrying a message of love and peace, and offering mankind a new testament with God. He moved us from an old testament governed by the law to a new one of grace and eternal life.
I offer my best wishes for a happy Christmas to the head of the Coptic Orthodox Church His Holiness Pope Shenouda III and all our honourable archbishops, bishops, pastors and congregations; as well as to the heads, clergy and congregations of all Christian Churches in Egypt.
May the good Lord protect and bless His Church and His people.
