The Egyptian Navy announced that its forces have rescued the crew of a cargo ship that sank off the coast of Alexandria.
The Naval Forces had earlier received a call from the Alexandria Port Authority that the Lebanese cargo ship AYLA sank, during its trip from Tripoli, Libya to Alexandria. AYLA was carrying a crew of 10, including nine Syrian and one Indian.
As soon as the call was received, the Naval Forces command dispatched the rescue ship al-Arish from Alexandria naval base to rescue it and offer the needed aid, and to hand the survivors to the relevant authorities for them to handle the legal side.
