The Liberal Front for Peaceful Transition (LFPT), together with a number of political movements, has called for a general strike and civil disobedience starting Saturday 11 February, so that the ruling Military Council would hand over power to a national coalition government to be formed by the elected parliament.
In its statement, the LFPT mentioned: “In these critical days of the history of our great nation, we regret that Egyptians have paid the price of fighting the corrupt security apparatuses, and the persistence of the military in holding power out of the lives of their sons amd their hopes for a promising future to be governed by values of citizenship, freedom, human dignity and social justice.”
The Military Council and the security apparatus are still protecting the ‘power’, not the ‘people’, so we call on all Egyptian citizens to hold a general strike and civil disobedience as of February 11 and until the handover of power.
