On the evening of 25 April, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry mourned the death of Mohamed al-Gharawi, an assistant to the administrative attaché at the Egyptian Embassy in Khartoum. Mr Gharawi was killed while heading from his home to the Egyptian Embassy to follow up on the evacuation of Egyptian nationals in Sudan.
The Ministry’s statement said Gharawi was a symbol of sacrifice for the sake of the motherland.
The Egyptian mission in Sudan will continue to follow up the evacuation and safe return of nationals in Sudan, it stressed.
“May Allah have mercy on the martyr of duty .. and grant his family patience and solace,” the statement concluded.
