Egypt President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi has today, 3 June 2024, accepted the government’s resignation submitted by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
A statement posted by the presidency informed that the President assigned Mr Madbouly to form a new government that would include competent members with outstanding expertise capable of achieving required objectives.
Top among these objectives is to guard national security in view of current regional and global challenges, and to prioritise the advancement and needs of the Egyptian citizen, especially regarding health care and education. In addition, efforts must be pursued to foster political participation, and to enhance security, stability, and battling terrorism, so as to augment what has already been achieved on these fronts.
The new government must also exert efforts to develop cultural and national awareness, as well as a moderate religious address that would consolidate concepts of citizenship rights and societal peace.
The President’s assignment of Mr Madbouly to form a new government included that, in line with Egypt’s ongoing economic reform, it is imperative that the new government should work to attract and enhance domestic and foreign investments and increase private sector growth, also to harness rising prices and inflation within efforts to fully achieve economic development in all sectors.
The current government, the President said, should continue in its role until the new government is formed.
