A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between MSMEDA, the national entity mandated to support the micro, small and medium enterprise sector in Egypt; and the African Egyptian Businessmen Association, with the aim of helping medium, small and micro enterprises enter the African market.
On behalf of MSMEDA, its CEO Bassel Rahmy signed the MoU, and representing the African Egyptian Businessmen Association, was Yousry El-Sharkawy, its Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Mr Rahmy pointed out MSMEDA’s keenness to explore means of cooperation with partners in Africa, highlighting the directives of the political leadership to expand trade exchange and reinforce economic relations with the African continent.
In this context, Mr Rahmy stressed, MSMEDA is working on marketing the products produced by medium and small projects in foreign markets, especially the African market.
For his part, Mr Sharkawy said that the African Egyptian Businessmen Association is committed to consolidating economic cooperation with the African financial and business community, in addition to spreading joint Egyptian-African economic and investment awareness, also offering advisory, technical and administrative services in the Egyptian and African market.
Commenting on the newly signed MoU, Mr Sharkawy said it will support medium, small and micro enterprises in penetrating African markets through an “intensive, effective plan”. He said that the Association will have 20 representatives and representative bureaux across Africa.
