“A Message for Peace” is the theme title of the 4th edition of the World Children Forum that is being held in Egypt during 24 – 30 November 2023.
In the presence of a number of representatives from 33 countries, the forum was opened by Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhi. Participating countries included Jordan, Sudan, Armenia, Argentina, Syria, Romania, Japan, Tunisia, Nigeria, Bulgaria, Pakistan, Libya, Lithuania, Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Indonesia, Poland, Iraq, Cameroon, Italy, Bangladesh, Equatorial Guinea, Spain, Myanmar, Yemen, Tanzania, Vietnam, Angola, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Palestine, Serbia, and the hosting country Egypt.
More than 700 children aged 12 to 17, as well as the winning artistic teams are taking part in the forum.
In the opening speech, Dr Sobhi noted that “The language of art enhances positive communication among children, in order to create a generation of children who aspire for peace, understanding, and revival of global heritage while taking pride in their national identity. It sends a message of peace from the children of the world.”
Among the forum activities are cultural exchange among children through developmental workshops and artistic performances at youth centres, as well as introductory visits to historical and modern sites.
