Egyptian Swiss cooperation on agriculture

Egypt’s Agriculture Minister Salah Helal recently met Markus Leitner, Switzerland’s Ambassador to Cairo, who was accompanied by a delegation of representatives of Swiss firms operating in the agriculture field. Among them was the head of Syngenta, one of the world’s leading companies dedicated to ‘Bringing plant potential to life’; Syngenta employs more than 28,000 persons in 90 countries our purpose. 

The Egyptian and Swiss sides discussed bilateral cooperation in the agricultural field and ways of benefiting from the Swiss experience in the research domain. They reviewed the research activities managed in Egypt by a number of Swiss companies, as well as Swiss projects that aim at improving the production of fisheries in Egypt.
