Egypt’s Railway Authority has announced that cargo trading are now shipping cargo all along Egypt from north to south: from al-Dekheila port in Alexandria to Aswan’s High Dam region.
The move falls within the Railway Authority’s objective to maximise the the rail transport of cargo in Egypt. Ashraf Raslan, Head of the Railway Authority, said that the authority has ensured that containers could be moved between Egyptian ports and industrial regions that had not served been by railway lines.
“It builds on the recently growing activity in the field of transport of containers,” Mr Raslan noted.
