On 15 June, the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Foundation for Dialogue between Cultures organised a seminar at the Swedish Institute in Alexandria to present the educational guide for citizenship in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
The seminar was attended by the Consuls of Lebanon, Palestine, Turkey, Greece, France, Spain and the United Kingdom, Deputy Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Deputy Director of the Swedish Institute, Director of the French Institute, Director of the British Council, members of the Egyptian National Network of Anna Lindh Foundation, education experts and representatives of civil society.
The guide was issued on 1 March 2017, and was prepared by experts from various countries after consultation with more than 300 teachers. The guide is unique in that it is a multicultural resource that proposes a common educational approach for all countries in the region to on how to deal with the issue of citizenship.
The introduction to the Guide contains concepts of education that encourage and enhance diversity and cultural interaction and all forms of education related to citizenship. The Guide also contains activities used by experts to encourage knowledge and exercise.
