The number of those killed in the Sunday 9 October attack against the Coptic demonstrators in Maspero has risen to incidents 27, according to the most recent figures announced by the Health Ministry. On Sunday 16 October, the 66-year-old Copt Magdy Fahim Mossaad passed away early in the morning the al-Salam International Hospital in Cairo.
The victim’s lawyer, Ibrahim Edward, said that Mossaad died of his wounds. Mossaad, he said, was among those who were crushed by the army’s armoured trucks in front of Maspero, which led to brain hemmorhage, a fractured right shoulder, and injuries in the face and neck.
Following the official after-death examination, Mossaad’s funeral service was held and he was buried in the collective tomb especially made for the of Maspero martys at the Coptic Orthodox cemetery outside the satellite town of 6th October, west of Cairo, in which the other victims who died earlier had already been buried.
