Pope Tawadros II, Patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church, has undergone successful back surgery in a Munich hospital in Germany. The Pope had long suffered from back pains that lately became intolerable. His doctors in Cairo advised him to go Germany for treatment.
The hospital in Munich today issued the following statement:
“Last week his Holiness Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria came to our clinic in Munich Harlaching where he underwent spinal surgery. The operation went very well so he recovered quickly and was discharched today. He and his Chief physician Prof. Dr Michael Mayer are very happy with the outcome of the surgery.”
