In a new move that threatens to throw the hegemony of the law to the wind, Islamists recently started propagating to the establishment of the upholding virtue and preventing vice commission. The first declaration to the commission was issued announcing that the commission is affiliated to the Salafi vocation and that it is is being founded to follow the example of its role model in the Holy Land. According to the declaration the perpetrators of the commission are not affiliated to al-Nour Salafi Party, but that they are members of it.
In parallel, Yosry Hammad, the mouthpiece of al-Nour denied any relation to al-Nour Party with the new commission. Hammad thinks that the allegations that the upholding virtue and preventing vice commission is affiliated to al-Nour Party are a kind of counter propaganda to the party before the third round of the parliamentary elections sets off. He explained that the change that the Party’s Salafis are seeking depends upon calling worshipers to repent to God through wisdom and through preaching true Islam. He said that worshippers are shown the path to virtue and the path to vice and are then given the freedom to choose their way.
