A number of churches in various places in Egypt, including Giza and Tanta, found ‘warnings’ posted to their walls threatening against shirk billah, literally having another god besides Allah [It must be noted that belief in the Christian Trinity is considered shirk], and against what was termed as “witchcraft against Muslims”. The warning was that Allah’s punishment would be surely coming very shortly.
The churches informed the security authorities of these threats but none of these authorities took any action.
Hundreds of Christians gathered in front of their churches to form human shields to protect them against any potential danger.
