Egypt’s Ministry of Agriculture has posted a statement on its Facebook page declaring that it has reached an agreement with the European Union’s Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed to the effect that EU member States would not impose additional checks on guava imports from Egypt.
The PAFF Committee decision came in an official letter sent by the Trade Representation Office in Brussels to the Egyptian Ministry of Agriculture, the statement said.
Minister of Agriculture Ezz-Eldin Abu-Steit said the PAFF Committee decision came as a fruit of explanations by the Egyptian Agriculture Quarantine Authority on the checks imposed on the crops before export.
