A bus that was carrying a group of Copts from Cairo to visit the monastery of Anba Pola in the Eastern Desert yesterday overturned on the Cairo Ain Sukhna road. Three Copts lost their lives: Abanoub Fadallah, Mirna Zarif, and Mariam Nafei; and 22 were injured. The wounded were moved to Suez public hospital.
Several of the passengers said the bus driver had been speeding when one of the tyres burst, and the bus overturned. The police are conducting an investigation.
