An unkown man has attacked a church in the Alexandria suburb of Maamoura and
fled. According to Ramy Qashwa, coordinator of the Maspero Youth Union—a
Coptic activist youth union—the unknown assailant broke the glass façade and the
sign carrying the name of the church of the Holy Virgin in Maamoura, damaged
the main gate, and pulled out the crosses. The guards securing the church were
then stationed at the side gate. The assailant fled.
The police was informed and a formal report of the incident filed.
