For the third year in a row, Egypt’s Central Bank Governor Tarek Amer was selected among the best 10 globally for 2021 by the magazine Global Finance. On their annual report card for financial leaders succeeding in the face of adversity, Mr Amer was graded “A”.
The magazine announced that the full report and grade list will appear in its October print and digital editions online at GFMag.com.
The Central Banker Report Cards, published annually by Global Finance since 1994, grade central bank governors of 101 key countries and territories, including the European Union (EU), the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, the Bank of Central African States and the Central Bank of West African States.
Grades are based on an “A” to “F” scale for success in fields of inflation control, economic growth, currency stability and interest rate management.
Global Finance publisher and editorial director Joseph Giarraputo said: “With the pandemic still surging in many areas, and inflation emerging as a major area of concern once again, the world’s central bankers are confronting multiple challenges from multiple directions.”
